Your humble organizers were a bit surprised at how fast the 90 slots filled up. We've added a few more spaces for sponsors and volunteers bringing the total up to capacity.

This means we've had to tell some people "NO" which frankly sucks since everyone should be able to attend but really, the space is maxxed out despite the interest.

Not Registered? Come party anyhow! So, if you missed the sign-up ... what can we tell ya? Who knew. To make it up to the folks whom cannot squeeze in, please come down to the DCV kick off party to mingle (and gripe) with us. If you find me (daveo) and use the code word "Belgium" you might get a free beer to assuage your lament.

Can't Make it to DCV?
Last minute cancellation? Please let us know so we can add folks who are eagerly and patiently sequestered on the waiting list.

Wanna get on the list?
To be honest, your chances are pretty slim but to give hope in this moment of despair, please send your name, etc. via the contact form.

Three Free Beers photo by matason on Flickr

https://www.drupalcampvancouver.org/waiting-list#comments drupal camp vancouver registration Tue, 06 May 2008 11:58:00 -0700 daveo 76 at https://www.drupalcampvancouver.org Registration Update for Drupal Camp Vancouver https://www.drupalcampvancouver.org/drupal-camp-vancouver-registration-update
Registration for Vancouver's Drupal Camp in open and the wisest ones are already signing up. The event is limited to about 80 attendees/participants and costs $20 to secure your slot.

For the twenty bucks, you'll get a lunch (or maybe two) and an eco-friendly t-shirt but the big payoff to this ultra-thrifty event is the knowledge sharing, camaraderie and networking with enthusiasts from many facets of the web dev world including coders, architects, designers and even some business and marketing types.

Everyone pays, even speakers and volunteers - it's only $20.

How come? Well the sponsor money will cover the venues and basic expenses (including at least one tasty, healthy lunch and a kick-off party) while the $20 registration fees pays for t-shirt and beverages basically. This isn't a for-profit event and the money is entirely spent on Drupal Camp.

However, each sponsoring company receives one pass so they can represent. The reason is if each sponsor brought their whole crew along gratis, we'd be hard-pressed to come up with the funds to pay for a great event. Note to attendees, the sponsors represent the some of the hippest companies in town and many of them are hiring too at the job fair - see the list of sponsors in the left sidebar (updating of logos underway ...).

Thanks for your understanding. Your humble volunteer organizers respect the sponsors' donations and want to ensure a event worthy of their contribution. If someone really can't pay the $20, please contact the DCV volunteers organizers with a request for sponsorship or scholarship and we'll figure something out.

To find out where the money is going, check out the Drupal Camp Vancouver Budget Update (Note: coming shortly after i publish this post).
https://www.drupalcampvancouver.org/drupal-camp-vancouver-registration-update#comments drupal camp registration vancouverdrupalcamp Mon, 21 Apr 2008 15:10:44 -0700 daveo 28 at https://www.drupalcampvancouver.org
